The half-day CPD course will be delivered on the web using Zoom.
Construction professionals in Hong Kong have been facing many challenges recently. Like the United Kingdom, many construction projects were delayed because of COVID-19. Cost savings have become more important, and these include the minimization of the effects of climate change in construction projects. For example, the average summer temperature in Hong Kong has been rising, and the rainfall intensity is increasing. Green roofs and green walls, which can reduce the urban heat island effect to make buildings cooler and therefore reduce air conditioning demand, are becoming very popular in Hong Kong.
This half-day Web-CPD course will explore the benefits of green roofs and green walls for buildings in Hong Kong. The latest developments in good and cost-effective green roof and green wall designs will be presented. Examples in the UK and Hong Kong will be used to demonstrate these state-of-the-art good practices.
