Joanne Kwan is an award-winning project manager at CIRIA with over 15 years of experience in developing and managing good practice for the construction industry. Joanne has a wide range of interests and experience in addressing environmental issues related to construction projects and is responsible for developing more than 60 good-practice guidance documents.
Joanne is the project manager of the first UK guidance on PFAS risk assessment and management, i.e., CIRIA report C819, Good practice guidance: some per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in soil and the water environment.
Joanne holds a Master's degree in Environmental Control and Pollution and is a Chartered Chemist, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, a Visiting Lecturer at Cardiff University, and an external examiner at Cambridge University.
