Joanne Kwan is an award-winning senior research manager at CIRIA with over 15 years of experience developing and managing good practice guidance for the construction industry. Joanne has a wide interest and experience in dealing with environmental issues relating to construction projects and is responsible for over 40 good practice guidance documents. These include CIRIA report C638 Climate change risks in the building - an introduction. More recently she has worked with the Adaptation and Resilience in the Context of Change network (ARCC) under the UK climate impact program (UKCIP) and Oxford University.
Joanne has a Master's degree in Environmental Control and Pollution and is a Chartered Chemist, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, a Visiting Lecturer of Cardiff University, and an external examiner of Cambridge University.Â
