Joanne Kwan is an award-winning Senior Research Manager and Sustainable Land Reuse Lead CIRIA with over 20 years of experience in developing and managing good practice for the construction industry. Joanne has a wide range of interests and experience in addressing environmental issues related to construction projects, and is responsible for more than 40 good-practice guidance documents. She is also the main author of CIRIA Report C811, Environmental Good Practice on Site Guide (5th edition).

Joanne holds a Master's degree in Environmental Control and Pollution and is a Chartered Chemist, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, a Visiting Lecturer at Cardiff University, and an external examiner at Cambridge University.
