Construction professionals in Hong Kong have been facing many challenges recently. Like the United Kingdom, many construction projects were delayed because of COVID-19. Cost savings has become more important and this includes managing the effects of global warming and reducing carbon emissions in projects. For example, with a higher average summer temperature, there is demand to make buildings cooler and to reduce air conditioning cost. Green buildings have become a more popular topic in Hong Kong.
This half-day Web-CPD course will examine green buildings in Hong Kong. It will discuss how developments could be designed and built with lower carbon emissions and meet other environmental targets in a cost-effective way. Case studies in the UK and Hong Kong will also be used to show how these can be done and the benefits.
