Insurance and Bond for the Construction Industry - 13th November 2019

Prior to the execution of a new construction project, the contractor is very often required to make necessary arrangements for insurance and bond. It is even required to have a good estimate in costs at the tender stage, as insurance and bond are often items in the Bill of Quantities. Moreover, some forms of insurance are required legally. For most construction projects, it is very common to have contractor's all risks insurance ("CAR insurance") and employee compensation insurance ("EC insurance"). In most construction projects, the contractor is often required to provide bond to guarantee its satisfactory performance to complete the project. Therefore, a contractor is often required to provide CAR insurance, EC insurance and bond for most construction projects.

This one-day CPD course is designed to help you gain good understandings of CAR insurance, EC insurance and bond for the construction industry, and to explain further whether these insurances and bond can provide sufficient protection for the parties involved in the construction project, and to answer the question: Is there any other good insurance and bond solution available in the market for the construction industry?

Furthermore, an update on recent court cases constituting impacts on the practice of construction project insurance will be given as illustrations.
